At Bridge City Coffee, our name represents something bigger than the coffee we roast and serve. It represents our belief that meaningful relationships can bridge divides, strengthen communities, and create opportunities for people to thrive.
We're a specialty coffee company rooted in Greenville, South Carolina, with a mission that has guided us from the very beginning:

From building relationships between coffee farmers and the people who enjoy their coffee to creating opportunities for our employees and bringing communities together, we believe coffee can be a powerful starting point for meaningful connection.

Where Our Story Began...
2016
One Snowy Morning. One Bigger Vision.
The idea for Bridge City Coffee first took shape in December 2016.
A month later, on a snowy morning in South Carolina, our founder was imagining what a coffee business could become when the name Bridge City Coffee came to mind.
But the vision was never simply to open another coffee shop.
It was to take a product with a complicated history of exploitation and inequality and use it as a means of recognizing people's inherent value and worth.
Coffee would become the vehicle for something bigger: building relationships, creating meaningful opportunities, and bringing hope to people and communities.
That vision became Bridge City Coffee.
And it's still the reason we do what we do today.
2017
From a 10-by-10-Foot Shed to a Growing Coffee Community.
Our first roastery? A 10-by-10-foot shed.
Everything we needed to operate could fit into the back of a pickup truck. We didn't have a large facility or an established customer base, but we had a clear purpose and a commitment to roasting exceptional specialty coffee.
As the business grew, we moved into a warehouse and hired our first employee, Brandon, who went on to become our head roaster.
2019
Opening Our First Coffee Shop.
On January 5, 2019, Bridge City Coffee opened the doors to its first café.
The first six months brought plenty of challenges, but they also marked an exciting season of growth.
That summer, we expanded our operations with a drive-thru and took one of the most meaningful steps in our company's history: hiring our first two employees through our nonprofit partner, Mill Village Farms.
For us, that moment represented more than business growth.
It was the realization of the vision that had inspired Bridge City from the beginning: using coffee to create opportunities and build value in people.
2020 and Beyond
Staying True to Our Purpose.
Like so many small businesses, we faced unexpected challenges in 2020.
Through it all, we remained committed to the mission that had been displayed on our café wall since opening day.
We navigated that difficult year without laying off employees and continued growing as a business.
It reinforced something we've believed since the beginning: when people are valued and supported, meaningful things can happen.
