**limited release** kenya - light roast washed process

We taste notes of lemongrass and honey with a silky mouthfeel in this limited release washed process coffee from Kirinyaga County of Kenya. We grabbed a very limited quantity of this lot from Falcon Coffees in partnerships with the Rungeto Farmers’ Cooperative Limited. This cooperative has primarily focused on promoting good agricultural practices to improve quality and better crop yields for its members. In turn, members will receive the best possible prices for their crops. After the ripe cherries are picked from the communities within this cooperative, they are pulped, fermented, and dried. The parchment is then removed at milling factories and the green coffee is auctioned in Nairobi.

This coffee was sourced through Falcon North America. It is the belief of Falcon Coffees that “coffee provides us all with a unique opportunity to contribute to sustainable smallholder agriculture”. Great socio-economic change can happen through improving the quality of coffee. When coffee quality increases, farmers receive premium prices, which is then reinvested into producing better crops. And when farmers are paid well, this will encourage better social and environmental practices.
