marisela geisha - single origin colombian

from $31.00

We taste sweet passion fruit with a thick juicy finish in this washed + natural processed coffee from the Southern Huila region of Colombia. The geisha variety is thought to originate in Ethiopia and is known for its exceptional floral notes, producing aromas that brighten up your day.

Coffee is often purchased because of the point of origin (i.e. Colombia, Ethiopia, Yemen, etc.). If you are exploring how interesting specialty coffee can be, the Geisha variety makes a compelling argument of the exquisite nature and nuance of coffee, and you may begin looking for that specific variety in other origins. We denote that this is a “varietal” instead of “variety” considering this lot was from a particular farm produced by Marisela Sanchez and family.

The main goal for LaREB is to improve everyone’s competitiveness at the farm level. They focus on each farm and the potential for what they might achieve. It is important to them that farmers be paid the highest price possible for their green, but their main objectives focus on improving post-harvesting practices, establishing accounting and organizational systems, and implementing all-around sustainable production. Their desire to empower farmers in their network make them great partners to Bridge City as we seek to honor and value all people along the supply chain.

Marisela Sanchez and her family have been members of the LaReb project since 2017. They send coffee samples to the LaReb lab for evaluation as a means for quality control and to help improve the quality of their crops each year. 100% of their specialty coffee goes to the LaReb project.
