Hingakawa is a women's association that is a part of the Abakundakawa washing station. It is a group of 740 widowed women who lost their husbands during the genocide, and other women whose husbands were involved in the genocide. Hingakawa means "we grow coffee’ and is meant to be a statement of reconciliation and restoration for the women in the group. This was the first group Queen City imported coffee with in 2016, and did a profit share with them. Money raised went towards a community center that provides off-season income-generating activities for women in the group as well as community space for child care while they work at the station processing their coffee.
